All 50 States

Currently, only Washington State and Arizona have instant online voter registration. That means that in the other 48 states, potential voters still have to acquire a paper form, fill it out, and mail it in.

This is unacceptable, and at Your Revolution, we’re actively working to bring instant online voter registration to every state by 2012.

It is our belief that providing easy access to the registration process will lead to a surge in student registration numbers nationwide. Also, by passing online voter registration, state’s will be forced to update and streamline their registration and election process.

In Washington State, the charge for instant online voter registration was lead by students. Student lobbyists and grassroots organizations pushed the legislation and generated the political support necessary to pass the bill.

A network of empowered students (we need you!)

Your Revolution is working with students all across the country to replicate what happened in Arizona and Washington until every state has the same level of access to the voting process. These students are literally creating the momentum for open access in their state and generating support among organizations and politicians.

However, we have a long way to go, and if you want bring online voter registration to your state, we’ll help you champion the cause.

At Your Revolution, we’re providing support and information for student activists and organizations who want to make online voter registration a reality in their state. Through our work in Washington and Arizona, we’ll help you with:

• Lobbying strategies
• Common concerns and rebuttals
• Technical issues and how to resolve them
• Local organizations to work with.
• Government studies on online voter reg.
• Legal issues
• Legislative language

Also, we’ll work hand-in-hand with you to identify potential legislative sponsors and supporters, and through the entire lobbying process to ensure that the necessary legislation gets passed.
